Very easy to fix, good for you and loaded with available variety. I never use the instant. It is easy to fix without this and the instant is usually loaded with all the unhealthy things you find in the now extinct Twinkie.
- Oatmeal one serving
- Milk and/or cream – 1/3 cup (remember to use full fat and if available, get uncooked organic. Good luck on buying this as the FDA has determined it to be unsafe? So get your own cow or goat or just take what you can get at the supermarket.)
- Butter 1 tablespoon
- pinch of salt
- honey – 1 tablespoon
- slivered almonds or other nuts of your choice 1/4 cup
- raisins – I prefer the mixed for variety. 1/4 cup
Cook oatmeal according to the directions on the package. Add the other ingredients and serve either with or without buttered toast.
I can’t tolerate milk, in more ways than one, so I simply add coconut oil and chipped almonds. This is my breakfast 5 days out of seven. Thanks for a great website.
Nice recipe. Because I can’t tolerate milk, I don’t use it. But add coconut oil and almond chips. Thanks for a great site.
