French Toast

  • Whole grain bread.  Use non wheat if available.  For a change, try using raisin or cranberry bread.  If you have bread that is old, store it in the freezer and use this for your french toast.
  • 1-2 eggs
  • Butter

Heat up a skillet or frying pan.  Beat eggs.  Dip the bread in eggs and cover both sides.  Lay the bread on the skillet and brown both sides.  Put a slab of butter and serve.  For a presentation treat, sprinkle powdered sugar or cinnamon or both.  Serve with honey, syrup or preserves.

Other serving options would be with fresh fruit, such as sliced fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries or banana.  Add whipped cream or yogurt for fun.  Experiment.

Another option, try with a light sprinkle of unsweetened cocoa and cayenne pepper and butter syrup.
