Cheese Fondue

For whatever reason, the use of a fondue pot on the table with a candle for the heat source is a very romantic dinner.  I can’t explain it, but it is worth taking advantage of this knowledge when the need arises for some special evening at home.

  • Cream Cheese
  • Melted variety of cheeses
  • Cream and milk
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Cubed bread
  • Cayenne pepper

In the fondue sauce pan, heat the cheese and milk over a very low heat until hot.  Add the Cayenne pepper (if desired) and set the cheese mixture on the fondue stand.  Dip the bread and enjoy.  Many women can seem to eat only this and are satisfied.  For most men, this at best is a starter.  But, it is a very nice starter and will really set the rest of the dinner off.  Serve with red dry

As an option, add 1 cup of dry white wine or sherry to the cheese.
