Beverages

There are so few things that mean as much to a great meal as the correct beverage.  Both alcoholic and non.  Remember though, that you don’t want to drown the flavor, the meal, the digestive process or especially the mood.  So, choose appropriately.  And for sure,  drink and serve responsibly.

The one thing I always have on hand is good, clean filtered water.  I also can’t get enough ice in a cold drink.  (Except beer).

Beer should be cold and unique.  Don’t settle for the cheap junk beers.  That is for drunks.  I like to search for a beer with body.  Pay a bit more and try something unique.

Red wine should be room temperature, and cold if it is a pink or white.  You can’t beat the inexpensive wines at a place like Trader Joe’s.  They go through so much it is hard to fail.  You don’t have to pay a lot to have a nice bottled wine.  If it doesn’t have a cork and isn’t a 750 ml, I wouldn’t bother.
