Omelette

I think one of the very first things a man should master (in the kitchen, that is) is the art of omelet making.  It is not hard and for sure, it is the epitome of male in the kitchen.  Especially for the romantic guy.  Just remember, that you must clean up after yourself.

  • organic brown eggs
  • cheese (never ever use packaged processed cheese)  Gouda, provolone, mozzarella, or swiss.  I steer clear of cheddar, sharp or not simply because it is not for everyone.  But, if you like it, go for it.  I mentioned haloumi earlier.  I usually don’t add this to an omelet because it is so good fried as is.  Also, it doesn’t melt and get all gooey.
  • other ingredients.  Just about anything.  The creative in you takes over.  Cheese is perfect by itself, but add chopped onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, green or black olives, etc.  Just about anything you can think is good on a pizza is good in an omelet.
