Fried Banana’s with Cloves

  • Banana’s – 3, peeled and sliced lengthwise 1/4 thick.
  • Butter – 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil – 1/2 cup
  • Cloves – 6
  • Ginger – fresh chopped fine
  • Brown sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Key Lime – 1/2
  • Cayenne pepper sprinkle to taste

In a non stick ceramic skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.  While heating, sprinkle the cloves, ginger and sugar in skillet, then carefully lay, the banana single thickness.  Squeeze the lime evenly over the banana and finally sprinkle the cayenne.

Turn banana when one side is brown.  When the other side is browned, remove to dessert plate and serve.  You can also make this very same plate, using 2-3 tart green Macintosh apples.  It will take about 3 times as long to get the apple tender.

It is incredible if served with strong fresh cardamon flavored coffee.  Also, try this as a topping for vanilla bean or chocolate ice cream.
